Homemade Marzipan (makes 350g)

Homemade Marzipan - it is much easier to make than you think! Create traditional Christmas gifts the easy way. Marzipan is delicious on its own  but add a little high quality chocolate and you have a decadent treat.   Marzipan is gluten free as it contains no more than 3 ingredients. Here is what you need:   200g ground Almonds (peeled) 150g icing sugar 2 tblsp rose water (or any other liquid if you do not like the flavour - ideas are: Cointreau, Kahlua, Amaretto or bitter almond or mix in spices like cinnamon, ginger or even a pinch of chilli)    How to make the Marzipan: In a food processor combine the ground almonds and icing sugar. Gluten Free Almond Horns/Crescents (Mandelhoernchen)

Mandelhoernchen (Almond Horns) are a fond memory of my childhood. These sweet, almondy treats are soft and chewy and simply divine. They are simple to make and a joy for the whole family.   What you need: For the dough: 300g chilled Marzipan (see our recipe for homemade Marzipan!) 2 egg whites (60g) pinch of salt 125g icing sugar   For the decoration: 200g sliced almonds 100g dark chocolate Extra's: Piping Bag and large round piping nozzle (10mm Ø for smaller horns, 15-17mm Ø for large horns)   How to make the horns: 1) Grate the chilled Marzipan into small pieces into a bowl. The Easiest Christmas Cake (GF/NF/DF/EF/SF)

This is our favourite Christmas Cake recipe, it is so simple, that my kids have been making it since they were toddlers.
